Haute Dogs will host their 5th Annual Bulldog Beauty Contest festivities Sunday, Feb. 15, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Marine Stadium, 5225 E. Paoli Way, Long Beach.
In addition to the main event at 1:30 p.m., a Pug and French Bulldog pageant will be held at 11 a.m. and noon, respectively. Local merchants and rescue organizations will also join for the Vendors & Pet Adoption Fair. More than 500 dogs and 1,500 spectators are expected to attend.
Scooble.com, the pet service locator connecting pet owners to the best food and services, will be on hand to distribute free goody bags to attendees as well as inform them of services in the area.
According to Haute Dogs, contestants will be judged by reigning beauty queens, and “will be evaluated on personality, charm, face, figure, and first impression. This is a contest where gender is no limitation and good looks [are] no advantage. Costumes are optional.”
Pageant winners will be awarded a crystal water dish, and a prize package that includes dog food, treats, toys, and much more! Awards will also be presented for Oldest Contestant, Mr./Mrs. Congeniality, Best Smile, Furthest Distance Traveled, and Best Legs.
To enter your bulldog or pug, visit www.BulldogBeauty.com for an entry form. Cost per dog is $30, or $40 on the day of the event. This event is free to spectators, or front row seats can be purchased for $5 via the entry form.
