HSSBV Hosts 13th Annual Dog Walk

The Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley (HSSBV) hosts their annual Walk for the Animals Saturday, May 9, 8:30 a.m. at Arrowhead Credit Union Park, 280 South E Street, San Bernardino.

The next in a list of humane societies to host such Walks this spring, including Riverside, San Diego, Escondido, and many more, the HSSBV’s Walk is in its 13th year.

“The dollars raised go directly to funding the two programs that do not receive any financial support other than by donations – Humane Education and Cruelty Investigations,” said HSSBV’s Development Coordinator Carin Orange.

Walk registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the Walk kicking off at 10 a.m. Following the Walk, pets may join contests such as Longest Tail, Best Dressed, Largest Dog, Smallest (Adult) Dog, Best Ball/Treat Catcher, and Best Trick. Additional festivities will continue until 1 p.m., and will include the Vendor Village, police K-9 demonstration, raffles, music, and more.

Participants will also receive goody bags full of pet-friendly treats from Scooble.com, the online resource for finding the best pet food and services.

To pre-register for the Walk, visit www.hssbv.org. Incentive prizes will begin at $100 raised.

All attending dogs must be current on their vaccinations, leashed, and sociable.
